Construction documentation in 360° — how to do it right

19 May 2026 · 7 min read

Once the screed is poured, you can't see what's under it. Once it's enclosed, no one knows where the cable runs. 6 documentation phases that save tens of thousands.

Phase 1: Shell & core

After structural completion, before installations. Plaster, slab, partition wall layout.

Phase 2: Electrical installations

After cable runs, before screed. Outlet, junction box and cable locations.

Phase 3: Plumbing and heating

After pipework, before screed. Heating, hot/cold water, underfloor heating.

Phase 4: HVAC, smart home

Ducts, units, smart home cabling. Service techs 3 years later know where to look.

Phase 5: Plaster and screed

Plaster condition and screed flatness before tiling. Evidence for future claims.

Phase 6: Finishing

Final state — before handover.

How to do it in practice

Fixed shooting points: place the tripod in the same spot at every phase. Only then does the before/after timeline align.

Same crew: people who know the scenes — session takes 30 min, not 2 hours.

Archive: a tour with timeline gives 5-second access, from any device.
